TRIP DESCRIPTION

COUPE des AMERIQUES, SUTTON, QUEBEC
This trip takes us to the beautiful ski country of Mont Sutton in southern Quebec just ten miles north of the Vermont border. It’s planned around the preeminent masters stage race of North America, the Coupe des Ameriques. Designated each of the past several years as the UCI Masters North American Road Race Championship, it includes categories for both men and women. While the field composition is predominantly North American there are an increasingly large number of overseas riders competing here each year. The Coupe des Ameriques is phenomenally well organized and has been the highlight of my season for the last 23 yrs.
Non-riding spouses and guests also love this trip for all the reasons anyone would love a weekend in a great tourist destination. This distinctly French-speaking part of Canada offers excellent restaurant and cafe’s, nice boutiques and shops as well as many outdoor activities in this extremely scenic area.
Our host hotel, Le Montagnard Condo & Hotel, is a lovely property of condos and studio apartments that accommodate anywhere from two to six people, comfortably, depending on the unit. LeMontagnard has a very nice pool, Jacuzzi, deck and bar area. It is also within easy riding distance from all race venues and less than a mile from Sutton’s town center.
Breakfast will be served daily to accommodate the early race starts. One dinner will be served buffet-style after the opening evening’s prologue. This will allow us to eat, unwind and get to bed at an early hour, so we are well rested for Saturday’s busy, two-stage day. Other meals will be on your own to give you an opportunity to sample the area’s tremendous restaurants.
